EC is a safe and effective way to prevent pregnancy — even
after sex! Use EC if:
Your contraception didn’t work
You had unprotected sex
You were forced to have sex
Emergency Contraception is now available
'behind the counter'. That means you must ask the Pharmacist for it and
show proof that you are over the age of 17.
If you are age 17 or younger, can can get Emergency
Contraception (EC) directly from some pharmacies. Some Pharmacists
have special training that allows them to ask you about your health history and then write and fill a prescription for EC. You don’t need to visit your doctor or clinic first.
